Metabolomics and Natural Products Screening

Fungal Metabologenomics

We probed fungi for anticancer, antifungal, and antiparasitic activity through high throughput bioactivity screening, metabolomics based bioactive molecule identification and genomics analysis to identify the biosynthetic gene clusters that are making those bioactive molecules using a metabologenomics platform.

Workflow for integration of metabolomics and genomics to identify bioactive fungal secondary metabolites and their biosynthetic gene clusters.

I grew 276 fungi strains under various growth conditions, extracted their secondary metabolites, and ran LC-MS/MS for metabologenomics and bioactivity screening.

Bacterial Metabolomics

We used targeted LC-MS/MS methods to study the effect of drugs on cell wall and DNA biosynthesis pathway in bacteria.
