Proteomics

Top-Down Proteomics

I worked to develop a technology platform for intact amyloid beta oligomer analysis as well as targeted top-down proteomics workflow for exploring the proteoform landscape of several proteins associated with neurological diseases such as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and Alzheimer's Disease.

Some proteins related to neurological disorders that we are trying to characterize.

I optimized the extraction and enrichment of several neuroproteins using immunoprecipitation, PEPPI, and size exclusion chromatography from mouse and human tissues and studied their size and modifications using charge detection mass spectrometry with liquid chromatography and capillary electrophoresis based front-end separation techniques.

Bottom-Up Proteomics

We developed an untargeted, label-free, bottom-up proteomics workflow using ion-mobility enabled Q-ToF LC-MS/MS with tryptic digest of HeLa cell extract. Then we used the optimized methodology to study human plasma proteins.

Optimum LC-MS parameters and different sample cleanup strategies for bottom-up proteomics

I worked on this project under the supervision of my mentor, Dr. Matt Sobansky at Streck Inc.
